That new shirt from the team you played at your away game, a 4th set of wheels, a handful of visits to the local Crossfit box...for less than the cost of these essential items (which don’t have the same no-bullshit policy that I do), you can become an online coaching client.

It means that after an in-depth assessment, which will help both you and I figure out your needs, goals, strengths, and weaknesses, we’ll move forward with one purpose: to help you become the skater you’ve always wanted to be in a way that fits your practice schedule and your life.

This is a program completely customized to you.

Do you secretly yearn to be in the main jammer rotation next season? Let’s do it. Are crossovers the bane of your existence? No problem. Wherever you need to go, I can take you there. (And you can take me ANYWHERE because I’m online.)

Roller derby athletes have the hearts of a champion. We work ourselves to the bone at practice to try and get better, to not let our teammates down, to hopefully see some improvement on our skates. But all this diving in head first means that we often don’t train in a way that maximizes our athletic performance.

It’s overwhelming and intimidating. And it doesn’t help that so many of us have little-to-no background in sports. We come to roller derby purely for the love of the game and strap skates to our feet even though it’s the first physical thing we’ve done in years.

We know how hard roller derby is physically -- of course we know -- but no one ever tells us how to protect ourselves. That there are ways to reduce the likelihood of injury and increase our speed. That there are ways to prolong our careers and shorten our learning curve.

Because of this we watch in horror as we hit plateaus sooner than we could have ever imagined. We get sidelined with injuries (both minor and major), we struggle to master on-skates skills, we watch as our teammates get drafted to the all-star team and we don’t.

Basically, instead of moving forward with our athleticism, we jump from plateau to plateau or injury to injury. We get nowhere or, worse, we get further from our goals and the skater we imagine ourselves becoming.

This is me training 0 times per week, training 6 times per week, and training 3-4 times per week.

Each workout is your workout. You’re an athlete and it’s time to start training like one. Every time you step into the gym, you’ll know exactly what to do and exactly how to do it. No more guesswork, no more random mash-up of moves from Instagram or YouTube, no more tripping over your own skates. Just a personalized game plan designed to strengthen and stabilize you where skaters need it the most.

Each meal is your meal. That late night, after practice stop to Taco Bell is all well and good, but the feeling of knowing it’s not the best thing to eat probably isn’t. Stop force-feeding yourself mediocre burritos -- you deserve better. Instead of handing you a diet to follow, I’ll teach you how to eat like an athlete. No more bonking at practice or sitting up worrying about how to fuel for your game tomorrow.

You can still be a normal person. As normal as you already are, anyway… Roller derby takes over your life to a small (BIG) degree. Do you really have time to pile training on top of that? Your training can fit your life and your practice schedule. We can work together to create a plan that gives you plenty of time to see improvement as a skater AND to do volunteer hours, go to open skate, or sit in front of Netflix binge watching episodes of Archer. You really can train, go to practice, and DO OTHER THINGS.

Each month, you’ll be given a training program based on our assessment and the previous month’s progress. Your bi-weekly nutrition challenges will change depending on where you are relative to your goals. With e-mail support, we’ll be able to make the necessary adjustments, speed your progress along, and keep you feeling motivated.

It’s the next step in becoming your own hero.
