Specifically, the me that spend 2 years doing nothing physically active EXCEPT roller derby practice. The me that was frustrated that I didn’t seem to be getting better. The me that kept getting held back by minor injuries.

Then the other skate dropped.

When I looked around, I realized that I wasn’t the only one that wasn’t training off-skates because I just wasn’t sure what to do. Everyone was a little unsure. A little intimidated. A little bit afraid.

So I took the long route, went to school for exercise science, became a certified personal trainer, and built the program that I wanted newer skaters that were interested in strength training to have.

There’s a part of you that knows that going to practice might not be enough to get you where you want to be. That it might not be enough to help you improve even more quickly. It might not be enough to help you reduce injuries.

It might not be enough to make you feel like you really own the track.

BUT YOU CAN OWN THE TRACK.

You just have to train a little bit differently than you currently are. You have to increase the resistance you’re using so that you can hold your space on the track. You need to get stronger. Bodyweight training is a good start, but you’ll eventually need more.
